This paper presents the findings of two such case studies. The banks selected are the Haryana Kshtriya Gramin Bank, Bhiwani (Haryana) and the Jaipur Nagaur Aanchalik Gramin Bank, Jaipur (Rajasthan). These two banks are among the first five regional rural banks which were set up on October 2, 1975. Special attention is paid on comparing the performance of these two banks for the full year 1976 and also their performance with selected other banks which were set up before June 30, 1976.en
