Abstract: Changes in Indian Industry have gained enormous momentum. Keeping phase with the change is the puzzling people problem in the industry which cannot be avoided. The Indian Textile Industry is passing through a crucial period. The employees particularly the middle management in the organizations are in some sort of psychological threat. The sense of loyalty towards the organization among the middle management in the textile industry is fading. Existing literature emphasizes the link between employee loyalty and productivity in the industry. The purpose of this study is to find out the existing sense of loyalty towards the organisation among middle management in the Textile Industry and to measure and find out certain indicators contributing to the sense of loyalty. The study used questionnaire survey and interview schedule as instruments. Six textile mills were part of this study. The main findings of the study is the difference in the perception the middle management has on the variables considered in contributing the sense of loyalty. The number of years of experience and the level of education also plays a crucial role in contributing the sense of loyalty towards the organisation. Implications of the findings of the study are drawn for managerial practices. Scope of the study for further research is also indicated.
