dc.description.abstractIncorporated in 1994, HDFC Bank was amongst the first to receive an ‘in principle ‘approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a bank in the private sector, as part of the RBI liberalization of the Indian banking industry. It provides wholesale, retail and treasury services and strives to be a world-class Indian Bank. The major strengths of the bank include expanding market reach and a diversified loan portfolio. The report discusses in detail the various capabilities of HDFC Bank, its weakness and challenges it is likely to face in the next decade.en_US
