Impact of networking on business organizations in Gujarat

Abstract

An attempt has been made to identify the impact of networking across several industries based in Gujarat along with understanding the (Networking Application) of the organization. In this regard, a questionnaire was designed taking into consideration of the following issues viz., information about the organization, systems configuration, mode of networking and information flow in the organization before and after networking. The researcher has administrated the questionnaire in nine organization based in Gujarat. The data collected from these organizations was analyzed to find out the impact of networking. The researcher has observed in general that: i)Structural changes follow after networking in organizations ii)Organizations felt that Investment in IS helps in providing moderate competitive advantage iii)After networking, organizations have moved to online information transfer iv)The majority of the organization use networking facility for transferring financial accounting information compared to other types of information. The key finding of the study is that even today also a significant amount of information transfer in organizations is through written communication only.
