dc.description.abstract | In this paper we attempt to critique the Government of India's programmes for affordable housing in India, namely the Rajiv Awas Yojana and Housing for All 2022. We shall analyse the efficacy of these policies in making the housing market more efficient in terms of them being able to provide housing to those sections of the population who are unable to avail housing from the formal market. We attempt to critique these policies on various criterion of evaluation such as the impact on FAR, property rights, land use laws and increase in supply of land. We will introduce these criteria for evaluation in the report and relate each of them with their importance in resolving the supply side issues in housing. | en_US |
