Developments in medical technology have led to an increasing number of cancer survivors. Unfortunately, the medical treatments to save human lives leave behind several physical and psycho-social side effects (such as pain and emotional breakdowns), which adversely affect the quality of life (QoL) of cancer survivors. In this case study, we discuss a framework proposed by the European Organization for Research and Training in Cancer (EORTC) for QoL assessment of cancer survivors. The case study of Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, Ahmedabad based on a sample of 50 oral cancer patients raises several issues on the EORTC methodology for QoL assessmenten_US
