Abstract: | The evaluation of the alternatives against multiple criteria is of the utmost importance in a multi-criteria de-cisionmaking(MCDM)problem.Itisoftenthecasethattheexpertshaveavaryingdegreeofconfidenceintheirevaluations.Thatis,anevaluationhasanassociateddegreeofcredibility.Totakeintoaccountthiscrucialpieceofinformationindeterminingthebestchoice,wepresentanewdatastructure.Morespecifically,wepresentaconfidence basedsoftset.Wealsoextendthesametothefuzzyandintuitionisticfuzzydomains.Theproposedconceptsareelucidatedthroughanumberofillustrativeexamples.Weestablishtheirusefulnessinarealcase-study. |
