Abstract: The Consumer Protection Bill, 2015 proposes to give the right to a consumer to cancel a contract within 30 days of making it, without giving any reason or justification. This is a very significant right that sets a precedence at a global level. This article locates the basis and justification for the right in the law and practices in other jurisdictions and in business practices in India.
