There is a significant push towards increasing use of data across all domains of human life and in the Indian context, a foray has been made in policy making. Within this larger domain, our focus is policing. While still in the nascent phase, we have explored the implications of algorithmic policing in the US context and have attempted to juxtapose the same on the extant conditions in India. The report covers the ground realities of marginalized communities’ interactions with police at the ground level and also captures the view-points of students of a well-known management student in India. Overall, the report aims to flag the possible dangers that could be in case an algorithmic (predictive) policing setup is brought forth in India.en_US
