Abstract: There is growing concern that corporate influence on political decision making is rising. With the introduction of electoral bonds as a medium of electoral funding, there is some uneasiness surrounding the reducing transparency and its possible implications on the democratic systems of the nation. This is an exploratory research to understand what are the various forms of influence through which the corporations seek to influence the dynamics of political parties and consequently the policy formulation system, what implications does that that have on the democratic system and the various stakeholders involved and why transparency in this dimension is extremely crucial in order to protect the democratic systems.
