Abstract: For efficient allocation of courses to students in PGP 2, the administration office allows the academic council to conduct a bidding process wherein students inherently make ordinal choices related to courses desired in the next academic term. Several factors affect these choices and include, but are not limited to, the following: interest, scoring, reputation of the course, the student's comfort with the professor, peer pressure, effort required to pass, structure of the course, class-timings etc. However, not all of these choice determinants are healthy and desirable. For example, interest, professor preference and clash sheet may be desirable but not peer effect and ease of obtaining a good grade.
