Mental health is a major concern worldwide, albeit the developments in the field have been at a disproportionately slower rate. Particularly in low- and middle- income countries like India, the progress in mental health medical delivery has been slow. As per a 2015 study by WHO, suicide rates in India were 15.7/100,000 , significantly higher than the regional average of 12.9 and global average of 10.6 (Srivastava, 2016) . Particularly in the age bracket of 15-29, suicide is the leading cause of death (Patel, 2012).en_US
