Abstract: In today’s modern world, time is a constraint, and everyone is looking for a short break for relaxation and rejuvenation, for spending quality time with the near ones. After a hectic work week, we often think to escape to a nearby destination to get ourselves a change, a recharge from the daily stuff and a satisfying experience in a short time of a weekend. It is observed that the demand for Weekend Stays / One Day Outing is increasing in metro cities. So as the concept of weekend gateways has gained traction, Resorts have come up with shorter one day packages for tourists who have lesser time to give it to the tour. The work week and post that the weekend have become very common terminologies among every class now a days. Many Multinational companies having operations in India prefer to have a five-day week followed by 2 days week end break. This was lately adopted by almost every sector and the concept of weekend tourism is emerged from this setting. Our study aims to find out the motivation for customers to do such short brake outings, the potential expectations from such a place and further to get insights about marketing and business strategy and to analyse this business in the cities of Bangalore and Pune.
