Abstract: | This is a world of rapid digital transformation across industry verticals. The trend has only been hastened by the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the circumstances, the half-life of knowledge has been falling quickly and employees have to be constantly reskilled. For this, we hypothesized that unlearning could be critical to let go of past believes to be better prepared to learn new technologies. Our hypothesis has been largely proved by the literary review. Furthermore, we explored the reskilling strategies adopted by leading companies in working in the digital transformation space through case studies. We arrived at the general best practices followed across companies. We then classified the companies studied under the scale of operations and growth rate dimensions to understand specific best practices for companies under different stages. Thus combining the best practices for reskilling, firms could have the best chance for staying ahead of disruption. |
