dc.description.abstract | As striving parents nudged by tech education businesses push their children to start young with learning programming, detractors raise red flags, the key contention being that it's being taught too early for a few. 'Will learning coding at the age of 4 add pressure on young minds?', 'Will it deduct their childhood?', or 'Will learning to code help my child get ahead within the longer-term amongst its peers?' More such problems have been in discussion numerous times over the last decade. There are always debates, studies, internet polls, and in-depth interviews with parents and kids to assess and derive the right age for a toddler to start learning to code. Though many studies and research are guesstimating the benefits of acquiring knowledge of a far off language like computing and programming at a young age, many are refusing to accept this reasoning easily because of the impact it's getting to wear on the minds of kids, who haven't yet learned to speak well including speaking a language that needs logic, patience, and curiosity to seek out out, and deep understanding of the digital and technological world. The point that's being missed here is the benefits of holistic upbringing. Empowering the kid with the knowledge of the many subjects they will pursue at a young age will make them futureready, not by forcing coding courses on them. Educating children about the requirement of learning coding comes way before making studying coding compulsory. So, why is it not right to propel children to pursue coding at the young age of 6 or 10? | en_US |
