Abstract: When the Covid Pandemic started, the job market was volatile with an economic downturn because of uncertainty, and there were millions of layoffs in the US. As the recovery started, workers started to re-evaluate their careers and started leaving their jobs in record numbers. Even in non-developed economics, workers who lack unemployment benefits and social security decided to move on because of the disruption the pandemic caused, which led people to evaluate their work-life balance and desires from a job (What Is The Great Resignation and What Can We Learn from It, 2021). The aim of the analysis was to better understand the term “great resignation” and also understand why it is happening. We wanted to first understand the trend of this topic and some of the key terms being used for this topic. Post that, we wanted to do some topic modelling and sentiment analysis to better understand the underlying issues regarding this phenomenon and also the general sentiment regarding it.
