Abstract: Among the industries in service sector, IT industry has a high turnover rate in India. According to research firm Gartner, the turnover rate for IT companies increased from 10% in 2020 to 20% in 2021 while 48% of the employees prefer to work remotely at least partly. This establishes the need for employers to develop efficient employee engagement strategies to reduce employee turnover and achieve higher level of growth. This need becomes even more essential with the remote working scenario after Covid-19 pandemic. Thus, to cope up with high competition and changing employee needs, there is a need that employers should focus on employee engagement strategies. This project aims to study the employee engagement strategies and their impact on employee performance and retention across different companies in the IT sector in India.
