Abstract: In recent times, women entrepreneurship has seen a rapid growth across the globe. In India, the trend has been catching up, but the pace has been slower compared to the other nations. The factors contributing to this slow growth are closely linked with the societal and economic factors. Even though women constitute about half the population in the country but the representation in entrepreneurship is heavily skewed in the favor of male entrepreneurs. The study is an attempt to deep dive into the current situation of women entrepreneurship in India. We reviewed several research articles, publications, journals, and economic census to understand the research being done until now. Through our research we have tried to perform a narrative enquiry to get the first-hand experience of the women entrepreneurs in India and uncover their entrepreneurial journey.
