Abstract: In India, the evolution of exports is characterized by a rising proportion of services exports dominated by high technology and high value-added services and a comparatively lagging manufacturing sector is still dominated by low-technology content and low-value products. India’s manufacturing export is not competitive enough and is stagnated compared to other emerging countries. Developing globally competitive manufacturing clusters represents one of the most significant opportunities for India to drive economic growth and job creation this decade. The new reforms would promote the growth of India’s manufacturing value chains by helping them raise their productivity, secure knowledge and technology, and obtain access to capital.
