Abstract: Healthcare has become one of India’s most important sectors both in terms of income and employment opportunities. Currently, one of the major untapped segments of it is the organization and streamlining of the operations of medical services. According to a study published in the International Journal of Community Medicine and Public Health, “the average waiting time in government hospitals was 20.3 minutes compared to 15.5 minutes in private hospitals and 39.71 minutes in voluntary hospitals”. Also, the number of doctors per 1000 citizens in India is around 0.928(2019) which calls for a streamlined healthcare system with a highly efficient operation. Availability of home treatment is also a major pain point currently present. Hence, through this project course, we aim to fully understand the medical services market, customer analysis, current trends and business models in the medical services sector. We also want to suggest and test an idea for a business model, through which we can improve the healthcare services sector by using technology to solve the challenge identified. This process will be structured through the tools given in the CIIE workshops we attended.
