It has been established that there is a pervasive, but concealed, gender bias within the entrepreneurial discourse, in contrast to the premise that entrepreneurship is an open and accessible endeavor where personal effort alone determines reward and prestige. As a result, women are seen as inadequate and deficient in comparison to men. With this paper, we aim to establish two main objectives, firstly to understand the challenges women face while starting and managing a business. Secondly, using the interviews conducted on women entrepreneurs belonging to socially or economically backward classes, explore the factors and challenges that affect the opportunities to start a business and run it effectively.en_US
