Abstract: | To keep up with the times, Cricket has undergone numerous changes. There has been a demand to adopt quicker, more result-focused forms of the game in modern society, as evidenced by attendance at games. The development of limited-over one-day cricket in the 1960s complemented the traditional format of five-day Test matches. To rekindle interest among spectators, the Twenty20 (T20) format was launched more than 40 years later, in 2003. In addition to changing the game by adopting a fast-paced and TV-friendly format, this version has also sparked new corporate interests in the game by drawing millions of spectators. At both the domestic and international levels of Cricket, there are currently a number of formats that coexist, from the traditional five-day Test match to the one-evening T20. Still, since the T20 format's introduction, there has been a rising demand for it. (Cannonier et al., 2013). |
