dc.description | Employee health has become a topic of grave concern throughout the world. Not only have we heard this on news channels, through articles in newspapers, or even in some curriculum at school, but we see it on a daily basis when our parents reach home, exhausted and devoid of any motivation to spend time with us. There are many reasons why this is happening. Delving further, these issues can be broadly segmented into mental and physical concerns, each carrying their own heavy baggage of implications. There is no shortage of concerns, some of them ranging from unhealthy and excessive expectations from bosses to the new concept of “hustle culture,” or lack of time for physical exercise and the right food choices. These health issues that employees face have implications not just for them but for various stakeholders. Their performance at the workplace declines, affecting productivity, engagement, and satisfaction. The other side of the coin, i.e., employees’ families, has not been spared either. Therefore, it becomes imperative for organizations to come up with effective strategies to identify the root causes of these issues and address them using innovative techniques. | en_US |
