The question was posed by the general manager of a leading cattle feed factory whether it would be possible to find out the cost of the nutritional elements in the cattle feed so that one could devise the pricing policy on the basis of one or more of these elements in the raw material. For example as milk pricing was based on fat content, could the cattle feed price be based either on protein or fat contents of the raw material.
