Abstract: | In this paper, an attempt has been made to analyse the trade union movement in an industry characterized by rapid economic and technological changes. Multiple unionism is a salient feature of this industry; there are several general unions, craft unions, and staff unions in the industry. In their structure and policies, however, these unions are quite similar. Despite this multiplicity, the unions have been able to achieve for workers a sub stantial improvement in terms and conditions of employ ment. |
