Abstract: | In this article the author has sought to analyse the process and output of collective bargaining in the British chemical industry. Having traced the evolution of collective bargaining, the author presents a brief revieto of the issues and arguments raised. It is shown that both trade unions and employers]' organization are found to bargain in the atmosphere of mutual trust and good faith. However, as a result of ?he growth in productivity agree ments at the local level, the system of national bargaining has been rendered ineffective. Consequently, a national framework for productivity bargaining has been evolved. |
