An inventory problem involving splitting of an order into a number of staggered deliveries for a finite time horizon and known demand is described in this paper. Based on the optimal policy curve, a procedure for determining the optimum number of segmented deliveries for items ordered jointly is provided when there are constraints on inventory carrying cost or the total number of segmented deliveries.
