Abstract: Deals with the concept of quality circles (QCs). The historical evolution of QCs, basic philosophy, structure, techniques applicable for QC work, applications, and common misconceptions are discussed. The methodology for their implementation within an organization is spelt out and typical implementation problems are highlighted. Some illustrative examples drawn from Indian organizations are also given.
