Abstract: | This case describes the reservation process for Gujarat Mail at the Ahmedabad railway station. Data is provided on the demand pattern for reservations and related transactions. An appropriate queuing system will have to be designed to ensure reasonable service levels to the customer. The possible impact of computerization would also have to be examined. Queuing models can be used for analysis. |
