The household sector is a reasonably large consumer of energy and in this sector cooking accounts for a large proportion of the energy consumed. The most used fuels are: 1) firewood, 2) kerosene, 3) LPG, and 4) electricity, in that order. Given the available alternatives and potential of solar energy, the note concludes that use of solar energy for cooking could lead to immense energy saving.en
