This case is based on a project prepared for the development of rural people in a taluka of Quilon district of Kerala. The project involves bodybuilding works for buses and other commercial vehicles under the cooperative form of organization. The cooperative society is expected to be formed by a group of unemployed youth seeking gainful employment, and not by either the input suppliers or the output consumers, as is usually the case in the formation of cooperative societies. The case provides all the pertinent data on project design and implementation, and poses the questions on its viability and sensitivity to the critical factors.en
