The case deals with the social cost-benefit analysis of a big dam on the Narmada river. The analysis of the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP) has evoked a lot of controversy. Both the supporters and opponents of the SSP have used the cost-benefit analysis of the project as the main argument for their cases. The case considers the criticism of the cost-benefit analysis of the SSP and the modifications and the conclusions of the opponents of SSP. It also raises several issues for discussion at the end.en
