This case focusses on policies concerning varietal planning and harvest scheduling of sugar cane for warna Sugar Cooperative Factory (WSCF). WSCF works in the extended winter season i.e.November to April, as cane weight per hectare and sugar recovery are viable in this period only. With proper planning the over all sugar production of the company can be increased. This is possible by developing analytical models, like linear programming for varietal planning and dynamic programming for harvest scheduling. This case also highlights the demand of data base required for such analysis.en
