Landscape greenery and wide roads greet visitors as they enter the S$ 20 million, 7.8 hectare complex of warehouses in the Yap Chwee Hock Distribution Park (YCH DistriPark) in Tuas, Singapore. The YCH DistriPark is equipped with a high density racking system and a S$ 5.4 million state of the art storage and retrieval system. It maintains an inventory worth S$ 200 million at any point in time. But what strikes visitors most is the sophisticated computerized system of storing and retrieving cargo, which range from chemicals to electronic products. In 1992, YCH won the National Computer Award in the Local Enterprise category; the citation from the National Computer Board, Singapore said "IT is a key component of YCH"s business strategy, creating increased value for its clients and providing YCH with the differentiating factor in the highly competitive transportation industry".en
