Ralegaon-Siddi Watershed Project

Abstract

This case is on formulation and implementation of an area based project. It discusses the problems of the area, strategy, and organization of the project, investment components and financing, and benefits of the project. The case raises questions for discussion on a) concepts of watershed and technical change for the project area, b) attributes of the architect of the project, c) organizational feasibility of the project, d) role of the government, e) sequencing of the supply of rural credit, and f) application of discount-worth criterion, besides the project's approach to other villages.
