The Arvind, Asoka and Aruna Mills Family Welfare Centre (FWC) is a trendsetter in the provision of family welfare services in general and female sterilization in particular. Dr. Prafullaben Dave, the medical officer, has been looking after its administration for over two decades. This case discusses the management pattern followed by her and tries to find out why this FWC is so popular. It also tries to look into the reasons why the centre is unable to promote spacing methods as effectively as female sterilization. Finally, it tries to find out the effects of having one doctor looking after the whole set-up and also what would happen if Dr. Dave left the FWC.en
