A Note on Information Technology

Abstract

The note presents a brief overview of hardware components such as processor, memory, peripheral devices, and network and communication devices. It discusses various computer configurations networking, internet and intranet technologies, and system software packages such as operating systems and language processors. It briefly describes the end user computing systems such as electronic spreadsheets, data management systems, word processing packages and presentation systems. In addition, the note presents the packaged solutions for OR and statistical modeling, project management and enterprise wide applications.
