dc.description.abstractMany organization face variable demand for their services over any given year. One such organization is the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, where demand for surgeries shoots up in the summer months and drops off in the other months. Thus the staffing of surgeons in different surgical departments so that there is no under or over–utilization of resources is a challenge. This case discusses this optimum allocation problem.en
