Title: Designing Object Oriented Systems
Authors: Rao, Rama T. P.
Keywords: Object Oriented;Structural Methods;Unfied Modeling Language
Issue Date: 3-Sep-2010
Abstract: The note attempts to provide an understanding of issues in the design of Object Oriented Systems (OOS). It initially illustrates the design of an information processing application through conventional structured methodology. Subsequently, it illustrates the design of the same application as an object oriented system, using the Unified Modeling Language (UML), a methodology popularly used for designing the object oriented systems. Most of the steps involved in the design of both structured and object oriented methods are described in detail to enable the readers visualize the issues involved in designing applications and also appreciate the differences between these two approaches. The note would provide all the necessary inputs to design new applications using structured as well as object oriented approaches.
