dc.description.abstract | The knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) industry employs some of the most highly skilled knowledge workers in India. The employees in this industry are mostly post-graduates and come from diverse backgrounds—engineering, economics, statistics, management, commerce, sciences, etc. Being an industry of recent origin the career paths of the employees in this industry are not clearly defined. This case describes an initiative, Disha- Career @ Analytics, for providing the analytics employees of Genpact with a career path. The various strategic and tactical issues related to creation of the career path, the role of technical training for skill enhancement of employees, and the creation of a technical training programme that meets the diverse aspirations of employees are discussed. | en |
