A is a large women based organization that has been empowering women through making them self reliant. As a new initiative, it has taken up ICT to empower them. The case describes the genesis of the organization and the initiatives. It explores the process that SEWA followed for designing and implementing the programme. The infrastructure, technology and capacity building efforts have been detailed. After an initial successful effort, SEWA is now contemplating the need to improve the management and efficiency of institutions like CLC. Cost-related issues hindered adoption of expensive equipments in the village setting. SEWA was also pondering about the need to have financial sustainability at different levels while ramping up the ICT operations.en
