His son, Onkar Kanwar introduced radical changes in 1980s to the company around. By 2006, Apollo Tyres had transformed into a successful company, with plants in Kerala and Gujarat. Post its acquisition of Dunlop Tyres, South Africa (2006), and proposed operations in Europe, Apollo now aims to become one of the top five international companies. This case maps the technological and management changes during the transformation journey and the growth challenges it faces. |
