| Abstract: | The present study attempts to relate productivity with personality characteristics of alienation and anxiety. Alienation Scale has been applied to assess alienation. The Hindi adaptation of CattelVs Self Analysis Form or IPAT ASQ has been administered for ascertaining the anxiety variable. The amount of production has been obtained from the daily work records (from March, 1977 to August, 1979) of the workers of a State owned Spinning Mill in North India. Results indicate that the level of performance is significantly higher in low alienated group as compared to high alienated group. Higher performance is observed in the group of low anxiety workers in comparison to the group of high anxiety workers. Further, productivity is found to be inversely correlated to alienation and anxiety. |
