Abstract: The lively debates between monetarists and Keynesians and on the relative effectiveness of monetary and fiscal policies continue partly due to the unsettled issues pertaining to the demand for money function. Further, the issues are purely with regard to the magnitudes of various elasticity’s of money demand and the stability of the function.
