Title: | Regional aspects of industrialization in India |
Authors: | Dholakia, Ravindra H. |
Keywords: | Industrialization |
Issue Date: | 27-Sep-1989 |
Abstract: | The author's examination of data on the industrial sectors of 17 major states over the period 1979-84 brings out very significant regional differences in the pattern and growth of industry. For reduction of regional disparity in industrialisation without sacrificing growth, the study pleads for (i) greater regional spread of individual in dustries, (ii) diversification of the industrial base of the northern states, and (iii) greater specialisation of the industrial structure in the southern states. |
