dc.description.abstractThe view that agriculture and industry are two separate entities in terms of their characteristics and role in economic growth no longer holds goods. The role of agriculture to industrialization is being increasingly recognized. Further, agriculture itself has become a form of industry as technology, vertical integration marketing, consumer preferences have evolved along the lines that closely resemble industrial sector. Agricultural products incorporate the benefits of research and development; create marketing channels to cater to individual and collective preferences regarding nutrition, health and environment.
