    Abstract
    The objectives of the study are as follows: • What are the trends and pattern of growth of the fertilizer industry over time and across regions? • What are the important macroeconomic, market development, and technical factors which influence the growth in fertilizer demand and what measures are needed to improve fertilizer supply? • What are the likely impacts of policy changes on: - market structure, conduct, and performance - marketing and distribution systems - overall competitiveness and drivers of competitiveness of the Indian fertilizer industry?
