Midwifery and EmOC Development Project

Abstract

The project covers maternal health services, specifically midwifery and emergency obstetric care (EmOC), in rural areas. The aim is to improve maternal care in India through collaboration between Swedish and Indian institutions in the area of mid-wifery and EmOC. The specific objectives are: Developing centres for excellence in midwifery training and selected nursing colleges. Preparing situation analysis papers for advocacy. Developing and testing midwifery focused maternal care model in rural areas. Conducting policy analysis and management studies in maternal health. Developing active network of organizations working on improvement of maternal health services.
