dc.description.abstractThis explanatory study tested a model within team team context the relationships among emotional intelligence of team leaders, transformational leadership behaviour and team performance. A total of 657 respondents i.e. 219 managers and 438 team members from the direct sales function of an Indian consumer durable company participated in this study. The model was tested using structural equation modeling; an acceptable level of model fit was found. Results indicate a significant positive relations among all the constructs at (p<.000). Transformational leadership behaviour is found to play partially mediating role between emotional intelligence of leaders and team performance of sales staff. Practical implications , limitations and future directions of the study are discussed.en_US
