Lot of work in Operations Research in the past has been towards the development of decision support systems (DSS). At the core of all such systems is a host of optimisation models which help the decision-maker in searching for efficient feasible solutions. The objective of the study was to study the existing techniques in Multi-Criteria decision making and to implement a model for a problem based on the concepts, tools and techniques of MCDM. The ultimate aim is to give the decision maker a good support system for recognising the trade offs among his criteria. The planning process is usually a loosely structured problem involving multiple criteria, which when analysed there often arises a problem formulation for which the Mathematical technique of Multi-objective programming canen_US
